A green city with incredible history and a unique urban structure, Szczecin is often compared to the capital city of France. A city of famous festivals and outdoor events.
You will not regret coming here!

- The second week of June is the time of the Days of the Sea – Sail Szczecin. The city becomes a destination for sea vessels, yachts, tall ships and warships and a sailing capital of Poland and Europe. The ships to be admired during the event include the famous Nao Victoria – a faithful replica of Magellan’s 16th century ship, HMS Falken – which belongs to the Swedish Royal Navy, and Fryderyk Chopin – the second largest tall ship sailing under the Polish flag. The over 100-metre long tall ship Dar Młodzieży is also a regular guest. During the Days of the Sea, Szczecin also remembers about children. Interactive games and performances are held in a specially prepared children zone. Visitors can also enjoy themselves at two fun parks. Electric cars, a rollercoaster, Europe’s largest mobile water roller coaster or a house of horrors – all this guarantees unforgettable memories.

The Days of the Sea are always accompanied by a fair where you can buy exciting souvenirs and try food from across the world. Art and handicraft lovers cannot miss the Alley of Artists.

Both the inhabitants and tourists can enjoy the shanties and folk music, performed by Dair, Bubliczki or Stonehenge. The Łasztownia island reverberates with shanties and folk songs of Stary Szmugler and CHANGO. The main stage near the Wały Chrobrego embankments is where you can listen to Golden Life, Anna Cyzon, Agata Dziermagowska, Patryk Kumór, Wanda i Banda, Róże Europy, Rezerwat and Big Day.

Days of the Sea regularly attract thousands of people to the Wały Chrobrego embankments with a firework show.

- For the third time in history, in 2017 Szczecin will be the host of the Tall Ship Races finals. The route will be Halmstad - Kotka - Turku - Klaipeda - Szczecin. The race will end on the Oder river at the Wały Chrobrego embankments on 5-8 August.
Large tall ships have already visited Szczecin in 2007 and 2013. The most recent event was the largest sailing event in the world, with 2.5 million participants.

- Bonds of Culture, or the Street Artist Festival, always taking place at the end of June and the beginning of July, is one of Szczecin’s oldest festivals. It involves outdoor shows, street spectacles, concerts, happenings, theatre events, performances, exhibitions, workshops, and film screenings.

- The Pyromagic International Fireworks Festival takes place in the second weekend of August: a million of lights light up the Szczecin sky! It is Poland's largest firework festival, involving a competition between the world’s top pyrotechnic companies. The firework show is accompanied by the Szczecin Music Live festival.

- Szczecin Music Fest is Szczecin’s first festival presenting the most important phenomena of contemporary world music and jazz. The festival is an opportunity to listen to artists representing numerous styles and genres, with their common denominator being world music, that is drawing from regional music traditions. The following artists have appeared thus far: AL DI MEOLA, ANJA GARBAREK, CESARIA EVORA, CHICK COREA, CHRIS BOTTI, GORAN BREGOVIĆ, HERBIE HANCOCK, LESZEK MOŻDŻER, SUZANNE VEGA, YASMIN LEVY, and many more.

- Kontrapunkt is the annual international theatre festival organised in Szczecin in spring, during which the audience has an opportunity to see dozens of performances. In the past years, the festival has also included German spectacles and exhibitions of visual artists, and the event has partially taken place in Germany: in Schloss Bröllin, Pasewal and Greifswald. Since 2007, Kontrapunkt has been present in Berlin, and the Polish audience has been spending one festival day watching contestant spectacles at the most important theatre stages in the German capital. The festival is accompanied by a theatrology session and numerous exhibitions, concerts, film screenings and performances organised by Szczecin’s artistic circles. The review is hosted by three Szczecin theatres: Teatr Współczesny, Teatr Lalek Pleciuga and Teatr Kana.
